Life Profile

Mrs. Florida Rice Mays, of Woodruff South Carolina departed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional. She was born on May 3, 1934 to the late Tom and Rosa Crawford Byars. She was the wife of James JW Mays of the home.

She was a member of Trinity AME Zion Church, Woodruff, SC.

Other survivor include one daughter, Eula Elaine (Armando) Agustin of Spartanburg, SC; three sons, Frank (Laura) Rice, Douglas (Tacolo) Rice of Bridgeport, CT and Octivus (Gwendolyn ) Mays of Boiling Springs, SC, one granddaughter reared in the home Shirley Hunter of Woodruff SC, a host of grandchildren, great great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mays was the last survivor of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Gipson, Betty Ferguson, and one son Jimmy Rice.
