On January 7, 2017, Mr. Eddie Scott, Sr. heard the call of his name from the Lord Almighty coming to carry him home. The battle has been fought, the victory won. He had found his peaceful resting place with God.

Deacon Eddie was born August 30, 1944 to the late Coy and Everline Middleton Scott. He was a member of Rocky Spring Baptist Church in Laurens, SC, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. Eddie was employed at Reeves Brothers Trucking in Spartanburg, SC for 28 years and Walmart Distribution of Laurens, SC for 15 years. For many years Eddie enjoyed playing baseball and golf.

He was preceded in death by his brother Floyd ‘Luke’ Scott and his son Eddie Scott, Jr.

He leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife Rosa Nance Scott of the home; three sons, Bryant and Jerod Scott of Woodruff, SC, Eric Johnson of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Donna Scott of Laurens, SC; two sisters, Geneva Riser of Woodruff, SC and Leila Hughes of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Jack (Ethel) Scott of Woodruff, SC; three brothers in law, John (Peggy) Nance, Willie (Jackie) Nance and J.B. Nance, all of Laurens, SC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
