Bishop Harbrooks Wood, 79 years, of 369 Old Pacolet Rd, Cowpens, SC, heard the Master’s call on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He got his ticket and boarded the train to glory at 11:08 am.
Bishop was the son of the late Bishop and Gladis Duberry Wood. He was born on July 17, 1941. Bishop graduated from Benjamin E. Mayes in Pacolet, SC.
Bishop joined Holy Temple Baptist Church at an early age and later he moved his membership to First Baptist Church of Fair Forest under the leadership of Bishop W. I. Jenkins.
Bishop was preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie Teeter, Sarah Dawkins and Francis Chandler.
Bishop was married to Evelyn Pearson Wood for 42 years.
In addition to his loving wife, Bishop leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, one son, Brooks C. Wood, Sr. of Roebuck, SC; two stepsons, Elder Aceius J. Pearson and Keith R. Pearson of Cowpens, SC; four grandchildren, Jermayne “JT” Pearson, Brooklyn “Peanut” Wood, Bryson Kennedy and Brooks C. Wood, Jr.; one sister, Ms. Rosa Worthy of Cowpens, SC; a special sister-in-law, Minster Cindy Pearson; a special niece, Mrs. Brenda (Victor) Shippy; an adopted son, Mr. Donald (Dollie) Gibson of Spartanburg, SC; Five additional sisters-in-law, Ms. Geraldine Pearson, Ms. Betty Glenn, Ms. Doris Alexander, Ms. Ethel Mae Brannon and Ms. Greer Casey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
