Life profile Miss Paula Mëgielle Mickens, born on November 8, 1972 in Washington, D.C. to Mr. Paul Mickens and Mrs. Christine B. Mickens. She entered eternal rest on Friday morning, June 5, 2020. Miss Mickens graduated from Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia. She furthered her education at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC on a full four year scholarship then onto the University of Georgia Law School in Athens, GA and became a lawyer. She was a Public Defender, helping people who could not pay for themselves, then she became a Deputy Solicitor for Fulton County then to Clayton County and back to Fulton County. Fulton County is retiring her Badge. She received numerous awards throughout her career. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Mr. Jurell and Marle Byrd and Mr. Paul and Thelma Mickens; Uncles, Mr. Bobby Stroud, Mr. Ezzie Stroud, Mr. Eroll Pryor, Mr. Herman B. Pryor, Mr. Ezra Dale Mickens, Mr. Elvin Mickens and a special cousin, Mr. Gerald Byrd, Mr. George Halloway; Aunts, Miss Cora Byrd, Mrs. Lorraine B. Latham, Mrs. Sally Stroud, Mrs. Cynthia Halloway; and her dog, Sheba. Left to cherish fond and loving memories, are her father, Mr. Paul (Ruth Ann) Mickens of Sumter, SC and mother, Mrs. Christine B. Mickens of Enoree, SC; Aunts, Mrs. Ann B. Vance of Enoree, SC, Mrs. Mattie B.
