Mr. Eugene Thompson, born on May 18, 1944 to the late Willie Frank and Sallie Mae Young Thompson, departed this life Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Mary Black Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong native of Woodruff, South Carolina. Mr. Eugene Thompson attended New Bethel High School, Woodruff, SC. He enlisted in the United States Navy at an early age. He graduated as a Welder from Greenville Technical College. He retired from General Electric Gas Turbine of Greenville, South Carolina. Mr. Eugene Thompson leaves to cherish loving memories: one brother, Joe Jessie Thompson of Woodruff, SC; five sisters, Willie Mae Moore of Spartanburg, SC, Ollie V. (Joe Thomas) Woodruff of Spartanburg, SC, Estella (Robert) Smith of Moore, SC, Cora Lucille (Charles) Foster of Spartanburg, SC, Jackie R. Thompson Cunningham of Woodruff, SC; one sister-in-law, JoAnn Thompson of Duncan, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
