Rev. Michael A. Thompson, was born August 3, 1962. He was a native of Spartanburg County.
He was the husband of Marian Thompson, and the son of the late Jimmy Goodwin and Airlene Thomas Thompson, Godmother, Elwillie Floyd, stepfather the late James Thompson.
Rev. Thompson was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church and a former Pastor of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC.
Sunset…
On April 3, 2019 Rev. Thompson entered eternal rest in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, La’Rita Thompson; three brothers, Robert Thomas, Albert Thomas, John Edward Floyd; his grandparents, Rev. John H. Thomas Sr., Clara Floyd Thomas, Elizabeth Rice Thomas and Mandana Harris Thomas.
Those Who Remain…
In Addition to his wife, Rev. Thompson leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; four stepdaughters, Letitia of Spartanburg, SC, Shynaqua of Passaic, NJ, Terry of Spartanburg, SC, Tamika of the Home; a godson, John Gary, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; four brothers, Roosevelt (Brenda) Thompson, Rev. Joe (Jacqueline) Floyd, Steve Floyd, all of Jonesville, SC, Rev. Willie (Darlene) Floyd of Bishopville, SC; seven sisters, Mary R. Thompson, Rev. Lillie B. Wilkins, Addie (Wilbert) Thomas, Audrey Jeter, Notie Thomas, all of Jonesville, SC, Clara Pearl Moorman and Betsy Long both of Union, SC. Five grandchildren, Ta’nyjha, Tyrese, Levi, Amelia, Savanah; one uncle, Rev. John H. Thomas Jr. of Jonesville, SC; four aunts. Mamie Pilgrims of Moore, SC, Rev. Dorothy (Kennedy) Garrett of Pacolet, SC, Mary Linder of Spartanburg, SC, Jannie Mae Thomas of Taylors, SC; Three brothers-in-law, Frank Richardson of Columbia, SC, John Cantey Jr. of Paterson, NJ, Myron, Cantey of Wayne, NJ; Four sisters-in-law, Valencia Berson of Passaic, NJ, Batina (Bobby) Gamble of Pinewood, SC, Patricia (Wesley) Durant of Sumter, SC, CasSandra (Timothy) Lyles of Jefferson, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
