Jessie Bell Parks Browning, wife of the Late John B. Browning. She was born on April 3, 1940 in Spartanburg County. She was of the daughter of Late Mr. Walter Parks Sr. and Annie Maude Parks.

Jessie Bell was educated at New Bethel High School in Woodruff, SC. She retired from Enro Shirt Company in Woodruff, SC.

She loved to fish, cook, sing in the choir, and above all loved her children and grandchildren.

Jessie Bell was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Enoree, SC where she was a member of the gospel choir. She was also a member of Women’s Aide Society for many years.

Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sr. and Annie Maude Parks; three brothers, Tommy Parks, Walter Parks Jr, and Marvin Parks; five sisters, Evelyn P. Ballenger, Annie T. Miller, Agnes P. Mays, Roberta P. Rice, and Gwendolyn Parks.

Left to cherish fond memories are her three sons, Vernon Browning, Bernard Browning, and Cleveland Browning; two daughters, Jessie Mae Browning and Sherry D. Norman, all of Woodruff, SC; Two sisters, Lucy (John Cal) Gilliam of Woodruff and Emma Jean Moates of Spartanburg, SC; four, sister-in-law, Ann Parks of Woodruff, SC, Carol Browning of Woodruff, SC, JoAnn Browning of Woodruff, SC and Ruby Lee Parks of Laurens, SC; six grandchildren James Thomas of Woodruff, SC, Vernon NaJarius (Andrea) Hunter of Charlotte, NC, Ciera (Rod) Young of Woodruff, SC, Travis (Jozelle) Norman of Ft. Worth, TX, Casey Stevens of Woodruff, SC, Janaria Browning of Woodruff, SC; Ten greatgrandchildren; one uncle, Archie Watson of Evanston, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
