HONORING HER LIFE

We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Evilena Horton. She was born May 10, 1927 in Anderson, SC to the late John Owens and Eula Mattison. She departed this life on December 6, 2020 at her Home in Williamston, SC.

She was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, in which she attended faithfully until her health started to decline. She was a very loving mother and cared for her extended family immensely.

Evilena leaves to cherish her memories to one daughter, Pamela (Cory) Hatten of the home; two sons, Bernard Horton of Williamston, SC and Stanley (Linda) Horton of Cartersville, GA; three grand-children, Bernadette (Al) Gaines of Anderson, SC, Ashlea (Patrick) Harrell of GA, Britton (Annie) Horton of GA; and host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Evilena was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard B. Horton; a son, Fred Douglas Horton; two sisters, Celia Chapman and Marie Lee; seven brothers, William, Andrew, John Martin, Tilman, Douglas, Henry and Lafayette. She was the last survivor of her immediate Family.
