Mr. Joe Lewis Rice Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents who adopted him at an early age, Tom and Nellie Rice and his parents Joe Lewis Rice Sr. and Beverly Jo Christian.

As a young boy he was a member of Lanford Grove Holiness Church and attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with his family during his later years. He was a graduate of Woodruff High School.

His passions in life included taking care of his family, especially his grandchildren, having faith in God and managing McDonald’s.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Rudolph Rice, Melvin Rice, Brut Rice, and sister Ella Mae Martin.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his devoted wife of 36 years, Mrs. Anna Renee Rice of the home, five sons, Joseph Young, Kendall (Brittney) Ferguson, Jatorrien (Antoinette) Ferguson, Andre (Pam) Beason, and Joe Hall; two daughters, Shanique (Eric) Rice, and Toya Calloway, and others. Three grandchildren reared in the home, Imari, Iyasha, and Kentre Ferguson; 32 grandchildren; Five brothers, Samuel Rice of Washington, DC, Eulis (Janie) Rice of Woodruff, SC, Derek Morgan of Long Beach California, Eric Morgan of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jeffrey (Dawnie) Morgan of Long, Beach California; Four Sisters, Frances Cade of Washington, DC, Connie (Belton) Lane of Woodruff, South Carolina, Lisa Rice of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Robyn Morgan of Long Beach, California; Two sisters-n-law, Neggie (Gene) Burton, and Cathy Ferguson of Woodruff, South Carolina, a Special Aunt Mary Payne of Woodruff, South Carolina, Adopted Father, Terry Stevens, and adopted Sister Adrienne Rawls, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his McDonald’s family.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 1:30 PM at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Spartanburg, S.C. with burial in Forest Hill Memorial Park, Woodruff, SC.
