KING MOUNTAIN, NC–Hester Patterson Stevens, wife of the late Johnny Lee Stevens, of 136 Dixon School Road, Kings Mountain, NC entered her eternal rest at the White Oak Manor Facility of Shelby, NC on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 after a long illness.

A native of Cleveland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jasper W. and Beatrice Robinson Patterson. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Gastonia, NC until her illness and Ada Chapter No. 7 of the Order of Eastern Star. She retired from Fairfield Hills County Hospital in Newtown, Connecticut. After retiring from Fairfield Hills, she continued to work as a teacher’s assistant at Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Survivors are: one son, Timothy Jay(Tina) Stevens and two grandchildren, Timothy, Jr., and Tia Leeann Stevens of New Haven, Connecticut; one sister, Katherine P. Davis of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Alphonso Patterson of Baltimore, Maryland and Robert Lee(Ruth) Patterson of Kings Mountain, NC.

Service will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM at The Mount Olive Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC by Dr. Benjamin Hinton and Rev. Charles L. Webber. Family will receive friends from 12:00 -1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC.
