Mrs. Dometrea Moseley ”Muffin” Alverson, 67, of Spartanburg, SC, wife of Mr. Freddie Alverson, was born March 5, 1949 in Woodruff, SC. She was the daughter of the late Mr. James H. Moseley and Mrs. Elizabeth Austin Moseley.
Mrs. Alverson was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret E. Moseley and a cousin reared in the home, Mrs. Dorothy M. Rodgers and also two other sisters, a brother and two loving aunts and uncles.
She was a graduate of New Bethel High School in Woodruff, SC. She furthered her education at Cecils Business School of Technology.
She was retired from The Felters Group in Roebuck, SC. She was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast and She was the family historian. At an early age she became a member of Trinity AME Zion Church in Woodruff, SC.
Left to cherish fond memories are her two sons, Kenyan (Shawnan) Alverson of Boiling Springs, SC and Eric C. Alverson of Spartanburg, SC; one daughter, Tamara B.(Roy) Alverson Gee of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Minister Walter M. (Diane) Moseley of Mauldin, SC and Mr. James L. Moseley of Spartanburg, SC. Three sisters, Mrs. Diane M. (Sam) Cohen of Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. Louise Moon of Simpsonville, SC and Lynda Rice of Woodruff, SC; five grandchildren, Ciera and Hunter of Spartanburg, SC; Nate Boyd and Jaelin Gray of Spartanburg, SC; Chanda Nash of Boiling Springs; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
