Mr. David Stanley Holland was born on December 11, 1955 to the late Lewis Holland, Sr. and the late Ruth Holland in Laurens, South Carolina.
He was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church in Mountville, South Carolina. and was also a member of the Jeptha No. 27 Masonic Lodge in Laurens, South Carolina.
Aside from being a Master Gardener, David was employed for forty-five years as a brick mason with SOL Masonry in Laurens, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Holland; one brother, Johnny Calvin Holland formerly of Laurens, SC; and one brother-in-law, Ernest L. Byrd formerly of Laurens, SC.
On February 12, 2019, Mr. Holland departed this life at his home.
He leaves to cherish his fond loving memories his wife, Dorothy Bates Holland of the home; two daughters, Regina (Kevin) Bryson of Laurens, SC and Charlene McGowan of Clinton, SC; three sons, Eric (Brandy) Holland of Easley, SC, Marcus Holland of Aiden, NC, and Cameron Darby of Clinton, SC; one step daughter, Candy (Paul) Nicholas of Coral Springs, FL; one step son, Ashton Bates of Atlanta, GA; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Byrd of Laurens, SC; five brothers, Paul Holland of Aiken, SC, Eric (Tracy) Holland and Lewis Holland, Jr. both of Laurens, SC, Sedric (Paula) Holland of Duncan, SC, and Herbert Holland of Maryland; one aunt, Martha Boyd of Laurens, SC; one uncle, Edward Fuller of Laurens, SC; four sisters-in-law, Mae Bates, Jeanette Boyd, Linda Bates, and Barbara Johnson; two brothers-inlaw, James Bates and Paul Bates, and a host of other relatives and friends.
