CMSGT Ralph Spurgeon Jr, son of the late Ralph Spurgeon Sr and Nannie Lee Workman Spurgeon, was born in Laurens County on April 19, 1937.

He was married to Helen Ferguson Spurgeon.

Mr. Spurgeon was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Spurgeon Adams (the late Tally Adams), a brother, James Earl Spurgeon.

He was educated at New Bethel High School in Woodruff SC and a retired Air Force Veterans of thirty one years.

He received two Bachelor Degree from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE.

Mr. Spurgeon leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his devoted wife of sixty years, Mrs. Helen Spurgeon; one daughter Sonji (Loic) Giraud; three sons Stanley (Irene) Spurgeon, Steve (Karen ) Spurgeon, and Scott (Krista) Spurgeon, two sisters, Nannie Ruth Spurgeon Rice (the late Carbarry Rice) of Queens New York and Eva Spurgeon Johnson (Robert) of Bennettsville, SC; ten grandchildren; sister in law Wilma Dillard, and Rebecca Durrah (Ivy); brother in law James Ferguson (Naomi) and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
