Roger Gerald Beaty was born on September 16, 1954 in Enoree, SC in Spartanburg County. He was the son of the late Mr. Johnnie Beaty and Mrs. Corrie Jeter Beaty. He was employed at Caraustar Industry in Taylors, SC for twenty-seven years. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Enoree, SC where he served faithfully as a trustee and President of the Cedar Grove Mixed Choir and All Male Choir. He was a gospel singer of Voices of Salvation and The Gospel Southern Lights. He was on the budget committee, the Usher Board, the Brotherhood Committee and was a contractor in landscaping.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert L, Johnny Mack and Donald T. Beaty; and his sisters, Francis Bernice Mc Leod and Denise M. Beaty.

Mr. Beaty leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Betty Mays Beaty, his son, Rogerrian Beaty of the home; his two daughters, Crystal Miller of Spartanburg, SC and Cassandra (Andre) Lawton of Woodruff, SC; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Juanita Warren of Hagerstown, MD, Ms. Beatrice Beaty, Mrs. Alice B. Williams and Mrs. Sandra Jones, all of Woodruff, SC, and Mrs. Kimberly Hunter of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Mr. Willie J. Beaty, Mr. Earnest E. Beaty, Mr. Tyrone (Sherry) Beaty, all of Woodruff, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
