LIFE PROFILE

Ms. Vona J. Poole, 58, of 390 Fairview st, passed into eternity on Saturday April 16, 2016, at Spartanburg Hospice Care. She was born in Spartanburg County on November 24, 1957 to Eugene Hunter and the late Yvonne Goggins-Hunter. She joins in eternal rest her son Cedric Lucas and Grandmother Karetha Goggins.

Vona was a faithful member of the New Prospect Baptist Church of Enoree S.C, Where she served on the Usher Board. She also was a very faithful member of the Cross Anchor Usher Union.

She attended New Bethel School in Woodruff S.C. and Wilde Lake High in Columbia M.D. She then went to further her education at Lafayette Academy School of Nursing. She was employed with Prince George Hospital in Prince George Maryland. After relocating back to South Carolina she continued doing what she loved, which was caring for others, so she was a caregiver for many.

She was the owner of Vonique flower arrangements. She had a love for flowers.

Vona was a dedicated community servant, She enjoyed attending the city council meetings and helping improve the city of Woodruff.

Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory is her beloved daughter Lashunda Hunter of Spartanburg S.C. Her beloved son Jarvis Lucas of the home. Step-daughter Shirley Hunter (Calvin) of Spartanburg S.C. and Step-son Johnathan Poole of Woodruff, S.C. seven grandchildren Shaquondrea Hunter, Divaccus Gilliam and Gabriel Gilliam, Dantavious Alexander, Cedriana Goldsmith, Jamescha lucas and Devetta Moore. Five great-grandchildren.

Her Siblings: Eugene Hunter Jr. of the home, Collier Jones of Enoree S.C. Minister Stephanie Hunter-Gilliam of Spartanburg S.C. Jeradena Hunter-Onwika of Woodruff S.C and Sherry Hunter Beaty (Tyrone) of Woodruff S.C.

God daughter-Na’tashia Patton and special daughters Wanda Murphy, Kami Gilliam and Fatia Suber.

Three uncles and five aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
