Mrs. Viola Rice Briggs, 88, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
She was a native of Spartanburg County.
She was the daughter of the late Essie Mae Booker and Carson Rice and the widow of Charlie Briggs Jr. Mrs. Briggs was a former employee of Woodruff School District 4 and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Cross Anchor, SC. She was also a member of Queen of the South Eastern Star Chapter #259.
She leaves to cherish fond memories; her son, Charles (Mamie) Briggs of Pauline, SC; one daughter, Mary Jones of Woodruff, SC; one granddaughter, Angela (Laron) McDonalds of Fort Wayne Wright, Alaska; three grandsons, Kevin Briggs Sr., Ronald (Tiffany) Briggs Sr., both of Spartanburg, SC and Terrell Smith, of Laurens, SC; and eight great-grandchildren; six great-greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
