Life Profile

Ruby Lee Parks, the daughter of the late Wade Bates and Mary Alice Bates of Enoree, SC, was born February 3, 1946 of Laurens, SC. At an early age, she joined Beaverdam Baptist Church of Enoree, SC, after marrying the late Walter Parks, Jr.

Ruby was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters, Melvin Bates, Luster Bates, Tom Bates, Nick Bates, Lillie Williams, Lucille Garrett and Margaret Ann Mars.

Ruby was employed at Whitten Center of Clinton, SC, as a housekeeper for 11 years. She retired in the early 90s.

On December 21, 2021, our beloved mother made her transition into internal rest. Survivors include one daughter, Vernessia Parks of Laurens, SC; five sons, Franklin Parks of Greenville, SC, Randy Parks, of Laurens, SC, Ray Parks of Union, SC, Noyphoner Lee Parks of Laurens, SC, and Marcell (Hazel) Rice of Woodruff, SC; two sisters, Mildred Mark of Enoree, SC and Genell Briggs of Jamaica Queens, NY; one grandchild reared in the home; ten grandkids; eight great-grandkids; and a host of nieces and nephews.
