Mrs. Betty Jo Marshall Meadors, was born on October 30, 1929 to the late Gertrude Marshall Wylie and Nathaniel Parks.

She was the widow of James Meadors, Jr.

At an early age, she joined Hill Street Baptist Church in Asheville, NC, where she was an active member. After moving back to Woodruff, SC she joined New Bethel Baptist Church, Woodruff, SC where she was an active member.

She was a 1947 graduate of Stephen–Lee High School in Asheville, NC. She was the Secretary of the Ladies Social Club, Pac 35 and the Willing Workers Club, Secretary of the Missionary Society, and a member of the Women’s Aid Society.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: two sons, Samuel Meadors and William (Elaine) Meadors, both of Woodruff, SC; two daughters, Debra Meadors of Woodruff, SC and Beverly (Walter) Meadors of Hempstead, NY; two nieces reared in the home, Alice (James Earl) Ferguson of Cross Anchor, SC, and Sandra Jones of Woodruff, SC; one sister, Sally Robinson of Boliva, TN; one brother, John Wylie of Nashville, TN, 18 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 7 great–great– grandchildren, 3 sets of 5 generations; good friends Charles and Pat Baumgardner of Woodruff, SC.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Eddie Marshall; three sisters, Martha Stephens, Barbara Davis and Marie Bellamy; one great-grand daughter, Keondra Scott.
